Tameside Cultural Services, part of Tameside Council is looking for 10 community groups to receive a free lantern making session as part of our preparations for Northern Lights - Tameside Christmas Celebration on Saturday 19th November. As the Northern Lights event is based in Ashton-under-Lyne we're especially keen to work with groups based in Ashton and the surrounding area.
At the one-hour long session a professional artist (at a date and time that suits you*) will run the workshop bringing all the materials for your group to create lanterns to carry in the parade. Each participant will be able to take their lantern home and then bring it to the parade.
* The workshops must take place between 1-18 November 2022, so please make sure your group is available during this time period. And of course, most importantly that your group will be able to attend the Northern Lights event on Saturday 19th November.
