StreetFest is back with a bang in May, with an event centred around Stalybridge’s unique culture - and a hefty dose of spring-time fun!
At this event, you’ll be able to join a modernist walking tour led by local artist Steve Marland to discover different viewpoints of Stalybridge’s alternative landscape.
There will be entertainment from the Sarah England School of Dance outside Trinity Church from 6.30pm, with dances round the MayPole plus some spectacular street dancing too, and visitors will also be able to enjoy an interactive street theatre show using puppets and props.
For the first time, we welcome Silent Disco Adventure Tours which is all set to give guests a fast, funny and funky experience that will never be forgotten. With three performances at 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm, all starting at the Civic Hall, the incredible activities can accommodate 40 participants per session in a roaming, rhythmic riot across the streets of Stalybridge. Silent Disco Adventure Tours’ state of the art broadcasting tech means they can take their special brand of party on the road. Keep your eye out for details of how to get involved, and make sure the family has a music-powered, fun filled evening at May’s Street Fest!
Additionally, 2 BAAP, Bubble and Squeak and the Morris Dancing Merchants will be entertaining the public with larger than life characters who will roam throughout the site on the evening.
Street Fest is a street market with stall-holders offering a vast array of mouthwatering food ranging from pizza and paella to ice cream, pancakes and food from all over the world, as well as a well-stocked street bar.
The event is run by Tameside Council’s markets service in partnership with prestigious artisan market organisers, The Market Co.
