Tameside Creative Communities Grants are now open for 2026-2027!

Do you have a great idea that could bring people together through art, music, theatre, dance, film, or other creative activities?

Tameside Council is offering grants of up to £1,500 to help artists, groups and creative organisations run exciting new projects across Tameside. These grants are supported by the UK Government through the Economic Development and Regeneration Flexible Grant (ED&RFG) programme and Greater Manchester Arts funding.

What is the grant for?

We want to support projects that:

• Support a varied and vibrant programme of cultural activity across Tameside

• give everyone the chance to take part in arts and culture

• celebrate creativity and the joy of being creative

• make Tameside a welcoming and exciting place to visit

• encourage people to spend time in our town centres and green spaces

• help local people feel proud of where they live

Who can apply?

Artists, performers, makers, creative groups, and organisations can apply for funding to deliver a new creative project in Tameside.

Your Project Must:

• Take place in Tameside

• Finish before 28 February 2027

• Be a high quality creatively led activity or event

• Encourage footfall and more people to visit the chosen area

• Be welcoming, inclusive and accessible to everyone

• Help bring communities together

• Celebrate creativity and champion inclusive ways for residents and visitors to engage with the arts.

What can the money be used for?

The grant can help pay for things such as:

• Workshops

• Speakers

• Music, dance, or theatre performances

• Art exhibitions

• Community events

• Film or play projects

• Art trails

• Other reasonable costs needed to run your project

• Community engagement: how well you plan to involve the public in the activity or event and encourage footfall into the area

• Feasibility: a clear and realistic budget and timeline
