BioBlitz 12th of September 2026.
BioBlitz Family Drop-In Event 11am - 2pm
Join us for a fun-filled BioBlitz Family Drop-In Event and help discover the amazing wildlife on your doorstep! Take part in hands-on nature workshops, explore and identify local plants and animals, and enjoy a range of creative outdoor play activities for children and families.
Whether you're a budding nature explorer or simply looking for a free family activity, come along, connect with nature, and see how many species we can find together.
Running order for the day
11am: Nature ID and recording with resident Ecologist Stuart Fraser.
This open to all ages and no need to book.

11am - 2pm: Drop-in Outdoor Arts Activites
Join us for a range of drop in activities exploring birds and insects that can be discovered at this wonderful site.
7pm: Bat Walk
Ticket needed
Please join us for an evening's bat Walk with Russ Hedley, we will be meeting at Park Bridge Car Park and taking a walk around and listening with bat detectors. There is a small booking fee to cover the rental of Bat Detectors.

The Bat Walk will last for approximately and hour give or take questions at the end.
Please note:
Parking is at Park Bridge and you will need to walk along the trail to reach Rocher Vale.
There are no toilets on site.
Weather is variable at the moment please dress for all weathers and use appropriate footwear.
Some of the paths are uneven and the site is part heritage site and outdoor hardcore paths with tree roots, brambles and range in gradients. Please wear appropriate footwear.

FAQs
Is there parking?
Please park at Park Bridge Car Park off Dean Terrace.
The event is taking place at Roacher Vale and there is an activity trail leading you to the site.
What is there is bad weather?
We have rescheduled the event due to the weather condition.
The new date is Saturday the 12th of September 2026.
We want to run our events across all weathers and try only cancel if there is a yellow weather warning. Please come dressed for messy outdoor play and muddy nature fun.

What facilites are there?
There are no toilet access. This is why there is a limited time period for the event.
The heritage centre is closed and there will be no access to facilities.
Please bring your own food, snacks and drinks for the time you are there.
