Overview:

Creative Threads is a free 12-week course for women* (18+) in Tameside who are not currently in work or education. Together we’ll explore the beauty of natural dyeing, using locally sourced plants and sustainable materials to colour fabrics in ways that are kind to the earth. Alongside this, you’ll learn simple textile and sewing techniques, and have the chance to contribute to a larger collaborative artwork.

This is more than acraft course, it’s a chance to:

> Slow down andconnect with nature through colour-making

> Build yourconfidence in a warm, supportive environment

> Share stories and creativity with other women

> Gain new skills that can support future training, volunteering, or creative work

No previous experience is needed. We’ll guide you step by step, from preparing fabrics and experimenting with dye baths, to designing your own creative pieces. By the end of the programme, you’ll have your own small portfolio and created a collaborative artwork at The Vale in Mossley.
