The canals of England were instrumental in the growth of the Industrial Revolution. However, the introduction of the railways had a significant impact on their use and the lives of the people who worked them. Chris and Barbara Kay, of the National Waterways Museum, will explore the changing role of canals, life on the inland waterways, and how the National Waterways Museum came into being.
A Dukinfield Library Club event. All adults welcome. No need to book, just come along on the day. Refreshments provided.
